Green Art Gallery is pleased to announce that Shadi Habib Allah has been selected as a recipient of the 2012 Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award.
The Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation was established in 1918 to support the visual arts by nurturing promising emerging artists. The award competition is not open; winners are selected by a panel of esteemed professionals. For 2012, the 30 winners were picked by a jury made up of Carnegie Museum associate curator Dan Byers, Los Angeles County Museum of Art curator Christine Y. Kim, artist Kerry James Marshall, critic John Perreault, Whitney Museum curator Scott Rothkopf, artist Cindy Sherman and American Craft Museum director emeritus Paul Smith. Prizes are given every two years to artists working in painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, video and craft media.
