Flávio de Carvalho Experimental, investigates the experimental and multiple character of the artist's work and its reverberations in the present.

Flávio de Carvalho was one of the most complex artists of the Brazilian avant-garde of the 20th century. If you had to choose a word to describe it, multifaceted might do it. He painted, wrote, directed, drew and performed, at a time when the concept of performance did not even exist.

With the vastness of an artistic work that broke new ground on so many fronts, Flávio played a fundamental role in expanding the frontiers of what was (and still is) considered art in Brazil. The show intends to articulate an overview of the important contributions of the multiple creator Flávio de Carvalho (1899 -1973), in the transition period between the vanguards of the beginning of the century. XX and its relationship with the radical experimentalism of the 1960s (such as tropicália, cinema novo, concretism).
