This exhibition, promotes and supports the activity of the Largo Venezuela Square Committee, a non-profit organization created following the naming of the homonymous square in Montesilvano in the province of Pescara, as a gesture of brotherhood to the Italo-Venezuelan local community.
The Committee has called for an international invitation-only competition for Italian and Venezuelan artists to create a monument. The aim is to express the unease of a population that has had to leave their country following the severe economic, political and social crisis that has hit the South American nation in recent years, but also to physically build a symbolic meeting place. In addition to the construction of the monument, the winning project will include a workshop phase open to the local community.
The project proposals will be on display on 9 November, from 6 pm, in the headquarters of the Zimei Foundation.
