Alessandro Balteo-Yazbeck often pursues a research-based practice that confronts cultural, political and socio-economic issues.
His works take a direct stand on our perception of power, question it and offer a precise definition of it. In Electoral Autocracy, his third solo exhibition at Galerie Martin Janda, Balteo-Yazbeck combines existing and newer works in order to comprehensively investigate the chaos in his home country and to probe the problematic historical narratives that lead us to the present.
