All flesh is Hay, is an exploration of the abode of the soul in the material world. People like animals, plants and things are material. We consist of flesh, when we die we eventually become earth, of the earth become plants; hay. Then we are not so different from the rest of the material world we move in, the topography, the architecture, the interiors, furniture and the technology that we relate to every day are perhaps not so different plants animals or humans. We are all the same scrap and barley and what we in everyday speech call life is perhaps just a characteristic among many of the materials.
Hale Tenger's work Reappearance includes a small self-seeded plant that has begun to grow in a damp place in the exhibition space, it plays a major role in an installation of sound and image in what is this internationally active artist's first exhibition in Sweden.
